First Responder Training

The Sacramento Police Department conducted one of many hands-on training sessions at Golden 1 Center on Tuesday night. Members of the SWAT, K9 and EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) units were all in attendance to familiarize themselves with the new building and surrounding area.

“It’s very important that our officers are acclimated to the environment that they’re going to be working in,” said Police Sergeant Bryce Heinlein. “It’s a very large building and we need to be able to make sure that we can move fluidly and quickly from one end to another.”

It Really Is The Best Arena In The World

Golden 1 Center already has a reputation for being the most technologically advanced venue on the globe, and it hasn’t even opened yet.

Among many other partnerships, Golden 1 Center became the first venue in the world to install wideband multi-mode fiber – a network technology that will connect fans at ridiculously high speeds.

Supplied by CommScope, the network is capable of delivering data at rates of 100 gigabits per second. That’s the highest speed in the world.

24 Karat Gold Tour Is Coming

Dubbed “The Queen of Rock and Roll” by Rolling Stone Magazine, legendary singer Stevie Nicks will be coming to Sacramento as part of her new North American tour.

Following an extensive run in 2014-15 with Fleetwood Mac, Nicks will be promoting her 2014 album, 24 Karat Gold, as well as her other solo material.

Not only will the Grammy Award-winner be lighting up the stage, but The Pretenders are coming on tour with her! Rock fans in Northern California won’t want to miss out on this one.

Golden 1 Center made a huge splash when Paul McCartney was announced as the first-ever performance, and again when he announced a second night. Since then, the venue has continued to add top artists like Stevie Nicks, Maroon 5 and Twenty One Pilots.

The momentum doesn’t stop with world-renowned musicians. WWE’s No Mercy will making it’s debut in the new downtown venue, and while the matchup has not been announced yet, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will also be coming to California’s capital.

Sprinkle in some Sacramento Kings games, the NCAA Tournament, Eric Church, Monster Jam and so much more, and Golden 1 Center already has packed its first few months with exciting entertainment.
