Second DOCO Crane to be Removed, 5th Street Will Be Closed on 3/24 – 26

Sacramento, Calif. — Beginning Friday, March 24 at 11:00 p.m., temporary road closures will be enacted to facilitate the removal of the remaining tower crane constructing the DOCO mixed use tower. 5th Street, between J and L Streets, will be closed to vehicles through Noon on Sunday, March 26.

The I-5 North- and South-bound J Street off-ramps and the 5th/J Street intersection will temporarily close between Friday, March 24 at 11:00 pm to Saturday, March 25 at 7:00 a.m. and Sunday March 26 4:00 a.m. to Noon.

Guests attending the 2017 CIF Basketball Championships at Golden 1 Center on Friday and Saturday should visit GetHereSac.com for additional routes Downtown and SacPark.org to plan and reserve parking

The arena’s transportation management plan will be not implemented as the CIF Championships do not meet the 10,000 guest threshold. For Sunday’s Ariana Grande concert, the transportation management plan will be implemented at 6:30 p.m.

To avoid congestion and detours, guests are encouraged to plan their routes and use alternative modes of transportation and services – Regional Transit, complimentary bike valet at Cesar Chavez Park on Sunday, and ride share – as well as identify alternative freeway exits – Richards Blvd., Q Street, and 10th Street.
