Golden 1 Center Continues to Attract World’s Biggest Tours as a Top Entertainment Destination in 2019

This week, Pollstar, the concert industry’s leading trade publication covering worldwide touring, events and venues, released new data unveiling the top tours and arenas of 2019. Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center was among the top performing arenas – ranked #28 in the world and #16 in the United States. In Pollstar’s final count for 2019, Golden 1 Center sold over 603,400 tickets for major concerts and shows, hosting 13 of the top 20 worldwide tours.
 
“Golden 1 Center has continuously sold-out a variety of shows since its opening in 2016,” said Sacramento Kings President of Business Operations John Rinehart. “This strong track record of success is a testament to Sacramento’s diversity and interest in a wide array of music and entertainment, enabling the arena to continue to attract world-renowned talent for the entire region to enjoy.”
 
The list of 2019 Top Worldwide Tours that performed at Golden 1 Center included iconic musicians from various genres including pop, rock, and country:  

  • Legendary performers: Elton John, Metallica, Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, Fleetwood Mac, and KISS.
  • Young pop icons: Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, and Post Malone.
  • Must-see shows: Muse, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Michael Bublé, P!NK, and Backstreet Boys.

 
Golden 1 Center has created a once-in-a-generation spark in Downtown Sacramento through events, entertainment, and culture which continues to fuel the city’s economy and quality of life. A recent economic report released by Downtown Sacramento Partnership found the world-class facility sits at the center of nearly $4 billion in new development projects since the arena broke ground in 2014. During Pollstar’s 2019 calendar year (which spans from November 22, 2018 to November 20, 2019), Golden 1 Center hosted over 1.7 million guests to more than 150 ticketed events – including 42 concerts, 38 Kings games, 54 family and sporting events, and 16 graduations – in addition to hundreds of community and private events. This success has also earned the arena the #16 spot in the world on Billboard’s Top 25 Venues of 2019 list.
 
In 2020, Golden 1 Center will welcome more top names in the entertainment industry including Celine Dion, TobyMac, Blake Shelton, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, Jojo Siwa, and more.
