Shawn Mendes: The Tour — Reviews Round Up
By Hannah Taheri
20-year-old musician and teen heartthrob Shawn Mendes kicked off the European leg of the third world tour of his career, “Shawn Mendes: The Tour” back in early March.
The Canadian singer turned world-famous pop star seems to be at peak of his career thus far, fresh off the success of numerous chart-toppers, a well-received self-titled third studio album, a revealing cover story in Rolling Stone, and even a new modeling deal with Calvin Klein. Here’s what some have said about the star’s biggest arena tour yet!
Golden Plec:
“Abandoning gimmicks to deliver songs from the archives to the people who appreciate it most, while channeling his new found energy as a performer…Shawn Mendes can now be considered a fully fledged popstar: one who puts the die-hard fan experience above everything else.”
Irish Examiner:
"Mendes plays guitar and piano and was as comfortable crooning desolately over the ivories on Never Be Alone as unleashing his inner pop god on Lost In Japan."
Heat World:
"... with this tour being called Shawn Mendes: The Tour after his self-titled 2018 album, we were expecting to sacrifice some of our old faves in favour of the latest record. But the best bit? He somehow managed to curate a setlist spanning his entire career."
Birmingham Live:
“…[The show] was fun-filled and jolly and Mendes’ interaction with his fans was perfectly judged.”
Evening Standard:
"Mendes sent all ages swooning with his matinée idol looks, effusive audience interaction and earnest songwriting."
We can't wait to watch Mendes hold nothing back when he brings Shawn Mendes: The Tour to Sacramento on July 11! Grab your tickets before it's too late!
