Today, Golden 1 Center and DOCO (Downtown Commons) announce the opening of a Tesla Supercharger Station in DOCO’s Central Garage (414 J Street). The Tesla station features 36 stalls including 20 V3 Superchargers and 16 Level 2 chargers.
“Opening a Tesla Supercharger Station will provide fans and guests from near and far the opportunity to enjoy all that DOCO and the arena have to offer while charging their vehicles,” said Sacramento Kings Chief Operating Officer Matina Kolokotronis. “Continuing Golden 1 Center’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, these Superchargers will utilize solar energy produced at the arena.”
Golden 1 Center is recognized as the world’s most technologically advanced and sustainable arena, the first to be awarded LEED platinum designation and has been named the Environmental Innovator of the Year by Green Sports Alliance, Sustainable Business of the Year for Energy Conservation by BERC and Sports Facility of the Year” by Sports Business Journal. The arena runs the most innovative food program in sports sourcing 90% of food within 150 miles of the arena, has implemented a Solar Days initiative to reduce power usage on “dark days,” and the Second That program aimed at eliminating food waste by donating unused/unprepared food to families in need. In addition, the arena is 100% powered by solar, 85% from solar farm and 15% from array on the roof.
