On Wednesday, March 6, Golden 1 Center will open Amplified Records, a new interactive space for guests to purchase and listen to records, as well as purchase tickets for upcoming arena events. Amplified Records, located on the Bridge Level near Section 209, will be open during each Kings home game and will feature vinyl records of artists who have performed or are scheduled to perform at Golden 1 Center.

Two-time GRAMMY® award nominated DJ and producer Steve Aoki will be on hand to celebrate the opening of Amplified Records and perform during halftime. Aoki will be promoting his new SVN Sound Neon 100 headphones, the first high-performance wireless headphone to feature neon LED lighting effects in the ear cups, allowing users to express themselves with color and sound.  The first in-arena record store in the world will also have turntable listening stations featuring these headphones. Before the game, he will meet with local community youth from the Sacramento LGBT Community Center in Golden 1 Center’s Music Recording Studio, the world’s first full-service studio in a professional sports arena, to discuss his career path. Aoki will also be handing out a limited number of the Neon 100 headphones while visiting Golden 1 Center.

“Sacramento is the birth place of Tower Records and has a rich history in vinyl records,” said Sacramento Kings President of Business Operations John Rinehart. “We are excited to have DJ and producer Steve Aoki here to help us launch Amplified Records, as we build on Golden 1 Center’s music culture and provide guests the experience of purchasing records and tickets in anticipation of upcoming concerts and events.”

“Sacramento’s music vibe is evident throughout its community and Golden 1 Center’s record store is bringing that culture and heritage into the highest tech arena in the world,” said DJ and producer Steve Aoki. “Youth are our future and it is so important to provide them opportunities to learn and engage with music. I am thrilled to be part of this effort to further enrich their lives through music.”

Golden 1 Center has created a once-in-a-generation spark in Downtown Sacramento through events, entertainment, culture and more. Since opening, the venue has hosted over 100 concerts from GRAMMY®nominated and award-winning artists – including Paul McCartney, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Jay-Z, Katy Perry, Elton John, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Metallica. In the coming months, Golden 1 Center will host world-class acts including Carrie Underwood, Michael Bublé, Jimmy Buffet & The Coral Reefer Band and P!nk. According to Pollstar, the concert industry’s leading trade publication covering worldwide touring, events and venues, Golden 1 Center hosted half of the world’s biggest tours in its first year after opening in October 2016. In the summer of 2018, Pollstar ranked Golden 1 Center 13th in the US and 40th in the world in ticket sales.
