Golden 1 Center Selected as March Madness 2020 Venue

World-class Sports and Entertainment Venue to Host First and Second Round Games

Sacramento, Calif. – Today, the NCAA announced that March Madness will once again call Sacramento home in 2020. Golden 1 Center will host the First and Second Rounds of the 2020 Men’s Division I College Basketball Championship on March 20 and 22, 2020. Sacramento Kings Owner and Chairman Vivek Ranadivé released the following statement after Golden 1 Center’s selection:

“We’re honored to welcome the next generation of student-athletes to Golden 1 Center and thrilled that the NCAA continues to call Sacramento a home for championship sports. We’re ready to build on the success of this year’s tournament weekend and showcase our world-class venue and the best of Northern California once again.”

Last spring, the NCAA tournament returned to Sacramento for the first time in ten years with great success. The tournament brought over 100,000 visitors to downtown Sacramento on one day alone and early estimates show the event brought in over $5 million in economic impact for the region.
