Fans Get Engaged At The Sam Smith Concert

"You lift my heart up when the rest of me is down. You, you enchant me even when you're not around." Sam Smith paused singing his classic song, "Latch," to give a special shout out. Below the stage on the floor, fan Mark DeMille was proposing to his girlfriend, Samantha. Sam Smith stopped singing saying,
“I have to pause (keep going). This couple here just proposed in front of me. Oh my god. Congratulations you guys, congratulations (as he blew the couple some kisses). Wow. That’s f**king amazing. He is a keeper, keep him! Let’s start again, for you.”
The couple was featured on the 106.5 The Wake Up Call, Monday morning to talk about their engagement story.
After 4 years of dating, Mark decided that he, “thought the concert would be the perfect opportunity to propose to Samantha,” considering their song is “Latch.” The couple both reacted saying that they received, “the most genuine reaction from Sam Smith.” When asked if she was expecting the special moment, Samantha replied, “I was not expecting it at all, when he got down on one knee It thought oh my gosh there are like 13,000 people watching us right now.”

The proposal was nothing short of special. Surrounded by thousands of people, an arena lit up with cell phone lights, and being serenaded by Sam Smith, it couldn’t have gone any better.
Mark told the Golden 1 Center employees who helped him that evening, “I’m still at a loss for words on what happened.”
